Microfinance - a powerful poverty-fighting tool: For Individuals, Families or Regions

TKOH Microfinance helps people to escape poverty, reduce debt, increase income through various ways and gives people an option for direction in life. Depending on the circumstances we also give people collateral-free loans and other financial services to support income-generating businesses. As each loan is repaid, the money is redistributed as loans to others, thereby multiplying its impact. These funds are reused many times and the program grows as a result. In addition, in some cases there is also temporary support, while participants learn new skills. It is not a hand out but a hand up.

What we do:

We we work with individuals and families to build hubs where 12 or more are supported by a leader of the hub. TKOH-microfinance programs support systems enable people to overcome problems through Cognitive Restructuring, hub leaders and global support through TKOH using the Internet to connect globally, sharing information. This helps people through step by step proven programs to increase income and reduce debt and encourages working together to resolve local problems, which in turn helps individuals and families. To accomplish this we work to build individuals and families to become hubs, which become min-financial institutions of  information and resources that are each globally connected. This builds from the ground floor up and everything is designed to support from the ground floor up, where each has an opportunity to go as far as they desire.

Who may be in one of the programs?

Literally anyone from all walks of life across the globe may be a part of the program. It is not restricted to geographic area and all those willing to learn to do something different may become a part of the network.

Our work focuses on four key areas:

Supporting Microfinance Institutions (Hubs)

Our partner microfinance institutions (hubs) work on the front lines daily, meeting the needs of individuals and families and reaching out to others who can benefit from microfinance. To help them be efficient and effective and increase their outreach, we provide microfinance program support in the form of information and education, funding, technical assistance, training and new technology.

Harnessing the power of technology 

TKOH-Foundation's Technology Center is the leader in information and communications technology (ICT) initiatives that are dedicated exclusively to advancing microfinance. To help microfinance reach its full potential, we are driving industry-changing innovations that increase the efficiency of microfinance institutions' operations, create new microbusiness opportunities for people and provide telecommunications access for those enrolled in anyone of the programs.

Where the Funds come from:

Original funding to start the programs came from The Kingdom of Hearts, Organization through sales and or profits and those that donated to the causes that TKOH Supports, which also includes fund raisers and fund raising events. Funding as advocates and as a lobby group comes currently from tkoh.org.

As a part of the Cognitive Program for growth money is also generated to help others as a part of personal growth. These funds help to finance Micro-Funding programs and help to end starvation and homelessness.
